Arrow Rock State Historic Site

Arrow Rock State HIstoric Site

The Santa Fe Trail crossed the Missouri River here in the 1800s. This site features a number of historic buildings, including an old courthouse, a one-room jail and the home of artist George Caleb Bingham. It also offers campsites, hiking trails and a picnic shelter. Dining is available at the circa 1834 J. Huston Tavern, and a visitor center interprets local history.

The site is 13 miles north of Interstate 70 in Saline County.
