Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park Campground
This park offers basic and electric campsites; some can be reserved in advance. Services include modern restrooms, showers and water. The showerhouse is available seasonally. Firewood is available for purchase. There is no dump station at the park; the closest dump station is in the city of Marshall.
This area was once inhabited by the Missouria Native Americans, who gave their name to the state and river. The park contains a large Missouria earthwork known as the “Old Fort.” Exhibits in the park’s cultural center interpret the history of Native Americans in Missouri.
Outdoor recreation options include picnicking, a small fishing lake and trails.
Located on Highway 122, off Route 41 north of Marshall.
